Launcher on windows xp keeps crashing

theres this issue that i have been having with the launcher on my xp vm machine. im not sure if this is relating to the graphics driver, but when i try to start a game, it just crashes out. is this caused by the type of installer?

The launcher for xp isn't supported anymore.
