I’m back for a limited time! I am here to post some frequently asked questions, and I now understand GOODBLOX has gone in an “interesting” direction since I left the community, and I’m here to share my thoughts on the matter, along with what’s happened in my life since I left GOODBLOX in October 2020.
Q: Are you going to be coming back to GOODBLOX indefinitely at some point?
A: I doubt it - I once said I was moving on completely to focus on the real world as life outside video games has consumed me. I barely have time for any of them now! The only major game I’m playing now is Pokémon GO (I have a humongous reputation in Washington state and a social life with the game). The pandemic has also toyed with my head in 2020, and with vaccines rolling out and Biden & Kamala being our next President & Vice President of the United States, hopefully things will take a better turn in 2021. School is great, but busy. Tawny is doing great, and it’s getting easier taking care of her (and I’m thinking about marrying her at some point!) Work and money is great (on hiatus now because not much gardening to do over Winter, lol). I’m staying safe and sound as well. Even with all that’s going on, if I am back, it would only be for the summer. But that might get busy too (see more stuff below).
Q: What are your thoughts on GOODBLOX since you left?
A: This is an answer I’ve wanted to get off my chest for a while. Below you will find the following suggestions and comments from my end.
The catalog is a mess.
I don’t know how others feel, but there are low-quality items (such as the “Unknown” set, which are textured horribly and clutter the catalog), and there are items being sold that really should’ve been gear items (e.g. Windforce and 2009 Firework Hat, which doesn’t make sense to me). Seeing the 2009 Firework Hat also reminds me that Mehrio created a firework hat already that was built with many hours of hard work, and seeing this is a disgrace in my opinion. Items from months ahead were unfortunately released out of order, Ice Skull was used for an event outside of Giftsplosion 2008 (which should NOT have happened in my opinion), and various items that failed in the ThumbServer were not removed properly).
I think the catalog needs a serious cleanup - Mehrio, if you are still the Creative Director, come talk to me. I think I can help sort things out and give advice for what should happen. |

2. The media channels are not as updated as they should be.
YouTube is slowly updated here and there - but as a growing community, there should be more content added to it. I’m not really talking about content you record and upload as soon as possible - all content should look as if it were built and edited with hard work, especially for GOODBLOX events. The Twitter has not been updated in some time either, and that will lose followers and it makes us look like we’re “dead”, which is not who we are. There should be a social media manager if there isn’t one already.
3. Events seem to be getting mixed reviews
This does not surprise me. When I was the CD, of course I got mixed reviews as well. I would always try my best to fix them either with a staff member or a community member (which I feel I should’ve upheld that a lot better). After new staff members came in, events seemed to be, from what I see, more mixed than I had once seen. Vital elements broken (and hardly fixed with servers not closing for maintenance, and even when it does, there seems to be hardly/no extensions on the event which should happen after an error occurred), obstacle course/game design does not put the player first but rather the builder first, with some elements of the event designed to annoy the player which should NEVER happen, and I’ve learned from experience from modifications I made back from 2015-2016, and event items/prizes have lost their luster—they look as if they were NOT created with time and effort and they are of things (e.g. Domino Crown and Doombucket meshes) that should exist to be rare.
I’ve probably forgot a few things, but here are some other comments:
Nice job with the site design during the Clockster event. That was great. Regen and the others who suggested it did a great job. However, Clockster’s account should be wiped/deleted now that the event is over. This reminds me that I should fork over ROBLOX-staff (Telamon, clockwork, etc.) accounts over to Mehrio (perhaps that should’ve happened before the recent event so it could be clockwork instead of clockster)? |

Xyrafrost did an alright job with the halloween event. The place was built very well, the event items lost their luster and involved items that should not exist (yet, in my opinion). Unfortunately, the event appeared to set a double standard (it looked as if they used tremendous amounts of bricks, despite people telling me to use less when I did events), game design was not too great (based on videos) during the Catseye puzzle (and it seemed to be too confusing for some players in the bad sense rather than the good sense), and the fog was too thick. It also seems as if the duration of the event wasn’t long enough, both in-game and times you could play it. The website design was pretty awesome though - loved the snowy effect. I still personally believe an on-site Trick or Treat event was a good idea, but maybe I’ll return to help with it this October if GOODBLOX is still up and if I care enough.
iGames - if you would like, I will give you the GrandMelee account if you want to use it (for archival purposes and accuracy of history) to host the Grand Melee Tournament. It seems you are taking this in a reasonable direction (and a way I would’ve hosted the event, too)! Great work. Also, make a fifth winner as there were five Aphthiton awarded after the initial tournament. I like your thinking with the Black Iron Crown too! I think you aren’t giving enough players time to register for the event though - should probably push back dates of the tournament and play-test it with staff members if you haven’t already. Way to go being up front with the KDR information on the blog - that’s terrific thinking on your part.
4. Site design is super fantastic, and I’d like to thank Pizzaboxer and KJF and Mehrio for their hard efforts. I’m learning Java and PHP this year for fun and possibly for a couple of classes over the next few quarters, and I’d like to say that both of you have inspired me to start cracking down on that. |

A: I’ve been well - terrific, actually! Information above on the first Q/A, but I will share some more things that have happened since I left before I write my next post on what I will be doing here for a week before classes get vigorous:
Except for the fact that there was an insurrection on the U.S. Capitol that left me disheartened, in fear, and angry, I am fine. The domestic attack that occurred in my Nation serves as a reminder that America can do better. Our democracy is at stake with a President that went MIA during the violence on the Capitol Building, and he must be impeached for fueling the fire and encouraging a domestic attack on the United States. I sincerely hope everyone involved with the breach of the Capitol will be brought to justice. This is a wake up call for me - I am planning to get involved in the political system in ways I never dreamed of originally, and I am representing the Democratic party. It will be a slow start, and I am still majoring in psychology, but maybe I’ll get somewhere. And if you ever see me running for any office in the future, I’ll be counting on your support.
I still own two sports cars, but I am selling one to raise money for my next car (I’m aiming for a Corvette)! If I feel confident enough, I might sell the other one to get a Dodge Viper instead. As long as money keeps being good, that’s what I might do!
Remember Tawny? Yeah, of course some of you do. She and I are doing very well. I am really hoping to marry her sometime this decade. She’s doing well in her classes, she’s majoring in sociology and on track to graduation from her University. She’s not as shy as she once was, and she is building up a strong support system and social group.
I got a 4.0 in biology (and it was an honor class), a 3.5 and 3.0 in both algebra courses last quarter and summer quarter. The good news? My GPA is still 3.6+. I’m in an honor’s society now as well.
I am still working on my modification, MarbleBlast STOP II. I’ve recently rediscovered AdventureCraft as well, and have been making my new modification, Kestrel Mansion, over there. More information will be released soon!
I have started eating way less grains, and I’m getting thinner. I’m cycling and running again, and I’m walking more than driving place to place playing Pokémon GO. To clarify, I don’t care what the size of my belly is. I just felt like I was eating too many grains (and grains are less necessary for your body than sugar is, actually)!
It’s great to see all of you again, and it’s great to see how GOODBLOX is still standing.
Missed you all.
I will be starting a Time Capsule (running at some point today until January 14th) and when it’s buried I will be gone again. For now I will be “popping in”, so to speak.

Jiquor, it is pleasure to be host the Grand Melee Tournament, and uh, the system I was using was by monitoring the players to be set as marked for 50 KOs, then 25 KOs.
