The Icy Gift of Surprise was completely unlike the others. clockster decided to get involved with this one, and you had to complete a huge puzzle spanning across multiple games to finally obtain the gift.
To start off, you first had to decode the description of the gift, which, before it was given out, read: "The code is in the name. Q0hFQ0sgTkVXUw=="
People quickly figured out that if you put "Q0hFQ0sgTkVXUw==" into a Base64 decoder, it would read "CHECK NEWS". This led people to discover a new password-protected blog post: https://blog.goodblox.xyz/?p=612
"The code is in the name" was a hint on how to get the password to the blog post. You had to count the amount of letters in each word of "Icy Gift of Surprise", which gives you 3, 4, 2, and 8. Inputting 3428 into the blog post would reveal a secret message from an unknown user, giving you a hint on what to do next.
Some people managed to discover the next few steps in the puzzle before even figuring out the password to the blog post. Well played.
The post explained that random parts of GOODBLOX history had been corrupting, and it was all connected in some way. It led you to start by searching, "not HERE, but THERE", and that a certain key might come in handy.
A creepy new game on clockster's account named "THERE, where the world is noisy" was where the puzzle really began. It was a corrupt version of "HERE, where the world is quiet", if you're familiar with that place.
The game was played the same as the original version, except you needed to be wearing the "key" t-shirt from clockster's "Temple" game to complete it. Those who had already completed the Temple had an advantage.
Once you entered the final area to complete the game, you would discover the "John, Loved of Muses" card, which is hidden under the Illumina area in Sword Fights on the Heights IV. Touching the card would give you a mysterious "Lost Soul" t-shirt, and a hint, which read, "A familiar face, in a familiar place." All of this was a clue for the next step.
The next step required you to wear the Lost Soul and go to the same location in Sword Fights on the Heights IV and touch the secret card, to which you would be teleported to a secret room with a raincloud and flowers. Touching the center of the room would give you the "Ethereal Key" t-shirt, and a hint, which read, "You've always wondered what was up there... haven't you?"
This all hinted at The Lucky Item Festival, an event from earlier this year. There was a waterfall in the map, but the top of it was always inaccessible.

For the next step, you had to equip the Ethereal Key, go to The Lucky Item Festival, and touch the door to the temple in the map. You would then be teleported to a hidden temple on top of the waterfall, with a gift box taken from Santa's Winter Stronghold inside of it. Touching the gift would give you an "Opened Empty Gift of the Void" t-shirt, and a hint, which read, "It's like you were just there!"
Along with the obvious gift box, people had visited Santa's Winter Stronghold just last week to get the Tragic Gift of Reparations, so this one was obvious.
You had to wear the Opened Empty Gift of the Void and go to Santa's Winter Stronghold, where there was a secret portal. Entering the portal would take you to a secret room containing The Riddling Skull and some extra gift boxes. Touching the skull would give you the "Wanwood Bone of Pwnage" t-shirt, and a final hint, which read, "Infinite Jest is not a member of [player]". This was a reference to the description of The Riddling Skull, which is also a reference to Shakespeare's "Hamlet".
The final game you had to visit was "rocket's Resting Place", a corrupt version of Yorick's Resting Place, which was where The Riddling Skull was originally awarded. If you completed the game normally and wore the Wanwood Bone of Pwnage, you would discover the Icy Gift of Surprise at the end.
The puzzle was super involved, but hey, 78 people managed to do it.
SyncMaster, regen, and tref were the first three to get the gift. Congratulations!
